Snowed Out

The kids have been counting down the minutes and hours until the first day of skiing. In fact, Sunday afternoon Taylor fell asleep wearing his ski goggles.

What a bummer that skiing was canceled today at the last minute because of snow! So we are staying home- shoveling the driveway, doing school, laundry- exciting stuff like that. Here are some pictures of the kids sledding and views of our canyon set to music. We'll see if I'm smart enough to get this techno doo-hickey to work without help from my sister! What a disappointment! At least they add it up at the end and you don't loose out.
Skiing in a storm (and driving) is no fun at all. So now they will get an extra day at the end of the season with beautiful weather. (prayerfully)

Your kids are too cute! Do they all ski? I couldn't imagine what it would be like to have snow right out my doorstep for a whole season. We wanted to go to Big Bear to snowboard and ski over the holidays but we had too many appointments that it didn't work out. (I remember one time we went to Big Bear and your brother, Tad, ran across the dry lake bed! Everytime we drive by that part of the lake now, I tell my kids that story and they ask if they can run across!)

I hope it clears up enough for your kids to ski. Even though the sledding looked like a bunch of fun too!

Hi Cynthia! I don't remember Tad and the dry lake bed- was it summertime? or was it frozen? You'll have to remind me why he was doing that. But I do remember going to girls camp with you. That was either Big Bear or Idyllwild...

We were snowed out today too. As far as I know it is still snowing. Spencer was a little miffed at me for not wanting to take him sledding, but it just didn't seem like it would be all that fun with the wind whipping our hair and pummeling ice into our faces. :^)

The technical doo-hickey doesn't work for me. Is anyone else having problems? On the other hand, my computer's been giving me fits for the last 20 minutes or so, and I've been thinking I should reboot, so this may be just on my end.

Going to go eat dinner - talk to you later!
