Home

I love where I live. I pray that Idaho Power will let us stay for a long, long time. When we left the house this week, to go into town for our "Crazy Tuesday ritual" which consists of: piano lessons, chime choir, lunch with Grandma- (except this week we had a big Chinese New year lunch/culture activity with our homeschool group --more on that later) and then swimming at the city's indoor pool with the homeschool group and sometimes a trip to library......whew..gasp....anyway....that morning, the drive out of the canyon began at 8:45 a.m. with a -6 degree temperature and absolutely beautiful sunlight sparkling off the frosty trees. click on this photo to get the full "cold" effect
I felt almost euphoric and the children and I marveled at how even cheat grass was beautiful that morning because it and everything else was sparkling like diamonds in the sunshine. The sun has made itself pretty scarce around here the last 2 or 3 weeks. I don't mind cold, but I do mind greyness that seems to have no end. By the time we straggled home that night, the clouds had returned and that COLD grey look was settling in......but I have to admit: it's still beautiful.

I love our cozy little house, that looks like it could fall off the edge into the canyon when viewed from above, but when you're here-- feels quite firmly planted on the ground. Come visit us, when sunshine and warmth have returned for good and the drive down isn't quite so treacherous...

I would love to come visit you this summer with Michelle, if she ever decides to come home. If not, maybe just me and the kids:)

I'd love to have you come Tana, with or without Michelle! :-) I hope they decide to come home, but looking at her photos, I'm starting to get worried...

Its just me said...

What a beautiful view!! I miss the snow. I love the photo when the gray rolled back in. It's like a black and white photo. I would hang a photo like that on my wall.

That really is sooo beautiful! I feel like our home here in Texas is in such a BLAH place. Marshy and full of bugs!

How lucky are you to be surrounded by all that beauty!!!! I'm jealous. I see sand everyday! Have you lived in your house very long? It looks all secluded... when Danny retires, we want to settle in somewhere where we can yell at each other and no one can hear! haha! Of course, we'll be yelling odes of love to one another! :)

Hi Cynthia,
We have lived here for a year and half now. Our house is provided by Idaho Power- they have homes for their dam operators so that they can live right next to the dam. I wish we could buy it but we couldn't afford it even if they would sell it!

Wow Sariah, I love your blog!
Yesterday I spent the whole day looking thecutestblogontheblock.com.
I found a template for my blog that looks pretty good!
Thanks!
