Bill's Eulogy

Bill. He will be missed. (well, a little) Bill was quite proud of his voice and made a very vocal addition to our little chicken flock. His colorful character and personality was enjoyed until the day he discovered his "true manliness" and decided he was "cock-o-the-walk". We hear he made a tasty crock pot meal at the Hansen's house Saturday night.

So, to be clear - your eulogy of Bill boils down to "He was kind of a jerk so we ate him". Nice! Remind me to visit you guys more often. Seeing as I'm kind of a jerk...

Yah, you better watch your attiTUDE around here!!
Okay, I take that back. A little attitude is okay- just don't peck one of the kid's hands hard enough to draw blood when they're trying to gather eggs, and we'll let you live long enough to see your next birthday. :-) Did you know the original plan for Bill's demise included a reenactment of a French Revolution scene, complete with a guillotine? Seriously. We homeschoolers like to mix learning history with animal husbandry, when possible....

Efficiency is a great quality - or you could call it "multi-tasking"...

Oh No! Guess he earned it, though. :)

A handful of our roosters have been "throwing down the gauntlet" with the girls occasionally, but so far no blood. When there is (or sometimes before) Hubby takes care of 'im.

Sariah,

You said Bill was bad but us Hansons thought he was REALLY good...but maybe it was the teriyaki sauce. Anyway, thanks for dinner and the feathers to tie flies with. Hank thinks you saved him about $50.00.Plus he found out how big rooster testicals were. He had always wondered.(For any PETA people out there...don't worry. Bill didn't know it was coming. He was strutting around the long green grass in our pasture, the pistol went off, and he knew no more. We are PETA people too...People Eating Tasty Animals.
