We are sowing....

The whole family worked in the garden yesterday- Joel harder than any one I must say. He spread composted manure in our "other" garden and got it all tilled under, so now both gardens are finished with the rototiller. The boys burned all the tumbleweeds that had collected behind the pumphouse shed. Then Joel and Torsten formed all the raised beds in the garden closer to the house. Heidi and Hailey helped me plant a gooseberry bush, strawberries, and all the peas and onions. It was a great DAY. Unfortunately, the evening brought in a storm and all these storms lately are wreaking havoc with my head. Major migraines....which then become "turn my stomache inside out" sessions that last all night long. It leaves me feeling a little bit drained. Any suggestions for horrible migraines that seem to be weather related? I'm beginning to feel a tad bit desperate.....

Hi,
So sorry to hear about your headaches! Would they not be related to pressure because they occur with the change of the weather? Maybe they are a sinus issue. If they are above or around your eyes then they might be. Check out a picture of the sinus cavities and see if the headaches are in that area, then maybe if they are there will be a way to treat them. I and my sisters have terrible sinus issues.
Just a thought.
Hope you're feeling better.

Wish I could help. My migraines are stress/cycle related. I think. Some months are better than others. I have never heard of migraines induced by weather changes. But it makes sense that the sinuses could be part of that. Allergy-related maybe? I feel your pain. If you feel the pain in your neck shooting up over your head and landing on your eyes, I have a trick for that: get a golf ball or small rounded object (I use a plastic play tomato compliments of my daughter)and place it under your back or neck--where the pain feels most promininent--almost like a bruise. T(rigger point release.) The pressure on the point of pain "occupies" the sensory input to the brain. You might have to fiddle around with it a little. I can usually keep the eye pain at bay long enough to fall asleep/let the pain meds kick in. Good luck.

Thank you both for your thoughts and suggestions. I will have to look up where the sinuses are located because the pain I get IS usually behind my eyes but does not seem to correspond with stress very often...

I have no magic headache cures, but I certainly need to stop reading blogs of People I Should Be Keeping Up With. :) Gardening? I just recently kicked the dog out of the garden area, and the wind blew our trampoline into, and then beyond, said garden. That is the only 'gardening' going on around here right now. :]

Now, to do something that doesn't require facing the wind. Laundry, vacuuming...
