Where have all the duck eggs gone?

Our duck, who we had always assumed was a boy, laid her first egg the morning Leif was born. She produced an egg every day for a week or so and then she ceased to produce. Was it the cold weather? Was a wild animal or the free ranging rooster eating them? It was a mystery.

This morning Taylor solved the mystery!
Aflac had found a soft warm nesting place by the pump shed and had accumulated 17 eggs! It was a jackpot morning for Taylor! :-)

Love the name of your duck. What are you doing to do w/ them?

How exciting! Isn't this an odd time of year for a duck to lay eggs...especially a male duck. LOL

I don't know WHAT to do with that many duck eggs! I was adding them to baked things when she first started laying. Then we added them to an omelet and it didn't turn out that great- but they may have just been a coincidence.... I've heard they have a "stronger" taste and so far I've been too chicken to try them by themselves!
