The boys both like to get in bed with me every morning and supposedly "snuggle" though I think a more apt description is thrash around and steal the blanket. Whatever it is, I love it.

Smoothies again
Warmer weather always puts me back in the smoothie making mode. Thought I'd share today's recipe with you because it made laugh out loud. I think it's the most disgusting looking drink I've ever made!!! But it actually tastes great. Banana, kale, almonds, 3 cherry tomatoes, frozen cherry/pomegranate/raspberry, apple juice and ice.

Oh give me a home where the cows and calves roam...
Coming home from Mt. Home the other day there was a big herd of cows crossing the road. So why did the cows cross the road? To eat the grass on the other side of course.

Cooking
The past two days I've spent in the kitchen..... poppy seed cake for Relief Society, chocolate chow mein bird nests for young women's, and preparing food for our freezer meals activity. Hopefully the weather will get nice again and I can get back outside!

Cake stand
I needed a cake stand for the cake I'm bringing to the relief society birthday dinner tonight and I wasn't sure what to do. I don't own one and I didn't want to drive to borrow one. (Around here you might travel 30 to 40 miles round trip to go to a friends house!) I was happy to have inspiration from Pinterest to come up with this makeshift solution! I put some packing tape on the bottom of the plate so it won't shift around. I've always loved milk glass vases and urns. :-)

Finally......
So I finally got the right size backing fabric for the unfinished quilt that I've had sitting in my sewing room for TOO long. I got it pinned to make a batting "sandwich" and it's now being quilted! (Such a slow poke I am!)
This is the first quilt I've done using minky on the back. I'm interested to see how it turns out.
